I thought this book was a great book about giving. I know that it is a Christmas book but I really think that it could be an all year round book on giving. This book uses a little girl named Emma and her dog Shu-Shu who go on an adventure to go to the King’s Birthday party. Along the way they meet people who are in need who they help out. I loved how at the end of the book that there were suggestion as to how to give. This book also shows how kids that they don’t have to be a certain age to give. That there are things all around them that they can give to others in need. It doesn’t have to be anything but just something that you already have that maybe you don’t need anymore or have more of. My 4 year daughter loved that it was a little girl in the story. I also think that it helped her relate to the story more. I think this is a book that we will remain on our book shelves not just all year round but for many years to come. I hope that it shows my kids how to give to others on a daily basis and not just at certain times of the year.
